WHEN THE ANSWERS AREN'T CLEAR

Sometimes the hardest part is not knowing why.

You may know that something feels more difficult than it should. Staying focused, remembering important information, staying organized, managing your time, following through on tasks, or making sense of patterns that continue to show up may feel like an ongoing struggle, yet you may not fully understand why.

A psychological evaluation can help bring those pieces together. The goal is not simply to assign a diagnosis, it is to develop a clearer understanding of how you think, function, and navigate the difficulties that brought you here so that the next steps are better informed.

WHAT WE EVALUATE

Attention & Executive Functioning

Understanding difficulties with attention, concentration, organization, planning, time management, working memory, task initiation, and other aspects of executive functioning in adults.

Adult Autism Evaluation

Exploring longstanding patterns in social communication, sensory experiences, interests, relationships, and everyday functioning when autism may help explain a person's experience.

Diagnostic Clarification

Exploring overlapping or complex emotional, behavioral, and cognitive symptoms when the clinical picture or an existing diagnosis remains unclear.

Personality & Psychological Functioning

Developing a more comprehensive understanding of personality patterns, emotional functioning, coping, relationships, and other factors that help clarify an individual's presentation.

Cognitive & Memory Concerns

Evaluating concerns or changes involving memory, attention, reasoning, processing speed, and other areas of cognitive functioning, particularly for adults and older adults.

THE PURPOSE COMES BEFORE THE TEST

The right evaluation starts with the right question.

Psychological testing is not a one-size-fits-all battery. The evaluation is shaped by the concerns that brought you in, your history, and the decisions the results need to help inform.

Before testing begins, we take time to clarify the reason for the evaluation. You may be seeking diagnostic clarity, exploring whether autism may help explain longstanding experiences, concerned about memory or cognitive functioning, or looking for recommendations to guide treatment and inform next steps.

A THOUGHTFUL APPROACH TO PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Understanding before labeling

A diagnosis can be useful, but it is only one part of the picture. The goal is to understand patterns of strengths, difficulties, history, and functioning in context.

Evidence guided and carefully interpreted

Assessment uses established psychological measures alongside clinical history, observation, and professional judgment to develop a meaningful understanding of the results.

Recommendations that connect to real life

Findings should do more than describe what is happening. Recommendations are designed to help inform practical next steps for treatment, work, daily functioning, or additional support when appropriate.

THE TESTING PROCESS
01

Request an Assessment

Begin with an inquiry. The practice reviews your request and may arrange a preliminary conversation to determine whether there is a reasonable basis to proceed.

02

Review the scope and fee

The practice determines the assessment type, appointment durations and sequence, explains the self-pay fee and preparation, and asks whether you wish to proceed.

03

Schedule your assessment

After the practice authorizes scheduling, you may select from the appointments appropriate to your assessment. Testing protocols and sequence are determined by the practice.

04

Feedback and recommendations

Clinical interpretation, findings and recommendations are discussed through the assessment process. Clinical records and testing results are kept separately from the scheduling system.

MORE THAN A TEST SCORE

A clearer picture

A more integrated understanding of your strengths, challenges, symptoms, and patterns of functioning.

Meaningful recommendations

Practical next steps tailored to the findings, which may include treatment, strategies, accommodations, or additional resources when appropriate.

A path forward

Greater clarity about what the findings mean and how they can inform decisions about care, work, relationships, or everyday functioning.

WHAT TESTING CAN LOOK LIKE

Individualized Evaluation

No two evaluations are exactly alike. The assessment is thoughtfully tailored to your concerns, history, and the questions we are working to answer.

Multiple Sources of Information

Assessment may include interviews, standardized measures, and relevant collateral information when appropriate.

Where We Meet

Evaluation procedures and appointment format are determined based on the type of assessment and clinical requirements.

Feedback & Recommendations

Findings are reviewed with you in a dedicated feedback session, with clear next steps.
